It's an Ad-Free Life.

Is it really an ad-free life? Ads are everywhere, not just on our screens but in flyers, on billboards, literally everywhere. They are really annoying and sometimes they interrupt any video I am watching, which I actually really hate. Also, some pop-up ads cause viruses on my computer or laptop and just are hard to remove without paying a price for an anti-virus.

I really believe that $9.99 is a ridiculous price for just removing ads. However, YouTube, is also adding more features to this new and improved YouTube. Some features that are included are, you can save videos so that you can watch them offline, play videos while the app is exited, watch any YouTube video without ads, and lastly, have access to exclusive videos made by famous YouTubers. With all these additional features, $9.99 is a reasonable cost for it. However I wouldn't buy YouTube Red because ads are not something that I deeply despise, so I wouldn't waste my money on features that do not mean much to me. $9.99 is a lot of money, especially for a young teenager who is just trying to make it in this world. Honestly, I could buy a whole lot with $9.99, for instance, i could buy food, maybe a sweater or even school supplies. Getting rid of ads is not necessary because it's only like one minute so i don't even have to wait that long. But there are people who are really I'm patient and just want the video to begin so i guess that this feature is for them.

Will YouTube earn a lot more money from this feature? My answer is maybe. Some children get really excited when they can go straight to the video and they will beg their parents to buy YouTube Red. I mean, when i was younger, the advertisements and commercials on TV really bothered me because it was a waste of time and all i want to do is watch the program. This funny thing that i did when i was about 5 was turn off the TV then turn it back on thinking the commercial would go away but it was still playing unfortunately. That was how desperate i was to get rid of the ads but now, i just either watch them or distract myself until the show comes back, it is the same situation on YouTube as well. Also, my grandma and parents hate ads so much they always complain about them. So, in that age range, those people could possibly pay that money to have an ad-free program. But i think that they wouldn't care for the other features.

Sometimes, there are ads that have meaning to it and are worth watching. Paying just to get rid of ads that could actually make us think about the world is not the best thing but if that's what viewers want then that's up to them. I just personally think that it is definitely not worth it and i could use that $9.99 on something more important to me.
